This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +1 more state.
• Address the service requirements of BD Advanced Diagnostics clients within the designated geographic area and nationally as necessary.
• Execute installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs utilizing electronic and computer skills.
• Service BD COR, Kiestra, Microbiology, Molecular, and LC/MS laboratory systems.
• Collaborate with service and support teams to enhance field service revenue through billable services.
• Present completed tasks to clients and offer follow-up plans as required.
• Proactively arrange and conduct system upgrades with customers.
• Report and document customer complaints in the appropriate systems for resolution and investigation.
• Manage spare parts inventory, company-issued vehicle, laptop, tools, test devices, and assigned equipment.
• Use the company credit card responsibly in accordance with business guidelines.
• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled visits, including overnight stays and occasional national travel.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation roughly every 6 weeks.
• Maintain a professional appearance.
• Engage in vendor credentialing programs and fulfill requirements for customer facility access.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or related fields OR 10+ years of relevant experience in troubleshooting and/or repairing complex systems.
• Familiarity with electronics, electro-mechanical devices (Mechatronics), PLCs, and pneumatics.
• Intermediate knowledge of information systems networking architecture design and setup.
• Intermediate understanding of computer operating systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customer IT personnel and laboratory leadership.
• Valid driver's license with a minimum of 3 years of driving history.
• Availability to work flexible hours.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% outside the home geographic area.
• Ability to participate in on-call support as necessary.
• Capability to lift up to 30 lbs frequently and 70 lbs infrequently.
• Ability to push/pull materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Capacity to stand, bend, and stoop for up to 10 hours.
• Compliance with company Personal Protective Equipment standards and guidelines.
• Real ID required.
• Ability to pass respirator fit test and annual spirometry if necessary.
• Preferred: Expertise in Robotics.
• Preferred: Experience with Liquid Chromatography (LC) and Mass Spec (MS) instrumentation.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Lab Information Systems (LIS) and database management.
• A+, Microsoft, or Cisco accreditation is advantageous.
• Understanding of basic computer security principles and standard procedures.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and adherence to BD auto safety standards.
