This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, prototype, develop, and test innovative computational pipelines and visualizations for single cell data analysis within Trailmaker.
• Continuously refine and enhance existing single cell pipelines and functionalities.
• Gather and integrate feedback from clients and colleagues.
• Troubleshoot customer analyses effectively.
• Stay informed about advancements in the rapidly changing field of single cell genomics and share insights on new methods, benchmarking studies, and more with the team.
• Experiment, test, learn from failures, and iterate continuously.
• Approach tasks with an owner’s mindset and take pride in the quality of your work.
• Assist and mentor fellow team members.

• Proven experience in designing, building, and enhancing data analysis software that addresses user needs.
• A degree in bioinformatics (or a related field) along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in bioinformatics engineering roles. A total of 5+ years of experience is required for consideration at the Bioinformatics Engineer II level.
• Proficient in Python and R.
• Hands-on experience with open source single cell data analysis tools and packages, such as Scanpy and Seurat.
• Knowledgeable in working with container-based cloud applications, preferably on AWS.
• Strong skills in data visualization.
• Extensive experience in conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback.
• A collaborative spirit with an eagerness to work as part of a close-knit team.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git/GitHub is preferred.
• Experience in building pipelines using Nextflow or similar frameworks is preferred.
• Familiarity with integrating AI tools into development workflows is preferred.
• Interest in web development is a plus.
• Experience with Bash is preferred.
