BIM Modeler / Revit Drafter – Scan-to-BIM Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Convert 3D laser scan data and point clouds into precise, informative BIM models utilizing Autodesk Revit.

• Create Scan-to-BIM models by employing as-built modeling techniques.

• Analyze complex scan data for architectural, structural, and/or MEP disciplines.

• Implement construction tolerances within BIM modeling.

• Register, clean, clip, and export point clouds using Autodesk ReCap Pro.

• Conduct clash detection between point clouds and new 3D models via Autodesk Navisworks.

• Make rational drafting assumptions when dealing with noisy or occluded scan data.

• Handle substantial raw laser-data files effectively.

• Provide a 1.5–2 minute English voice note detailing relevant experience, past responsibilities, and interest in remote opportunities in the U.S.

• Submit a work-sample portfolio for internal review.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Technical Diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline.

• At least 2 to 3 years of demonstrated, hands-on experience in Scan-to-BIM production processes.

• High-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit, including modeling, phasing, worksharing, and family creation.

• Advanced skills in Autodesk ReCap Pro, covering registration, cleanup, clipping, and exporting point clouds.

• Familiarity with automated extraction plugins or standalone tools such as EdgeWise, Faro As-Built for Revit, or Leica CloudWorx is preferred.

• Experience using Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection between point clouds and new 3D models.

• Strong spatial awareness and 3D visualization capabilities.

• Comprehensive understanding of building systems, including the ability to distinguish structural beams from mechanical ducts.

• Precision and accuracy at the millimeter level.

• Capacity to make sound drafting assumptions when managing noisy scan data or occluded areas.

• Proficient in organizing large file formats, including gigabytes or terabytes of raw laser data.

• English voice note required for screening purposes.

• Portfolio or work samples are mandatory.

• Possess a personal computer with internet access.

• Comfortable using Hubstaff time tracking software.

• U.S. citizenship or eligibility for a U.S. work permit is required during the application process.
