This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +2 more states.
β’ Maintains the practice management system by accurately entering data and verifying and updating insurance and claims information.
β’ Manages correspondence with carriers, oversees EOBs, and inputs key payments into the system.
β’ Prepares, reviews, submits, and follows up on clean claims with various companies and individuals.
β’ Collects, posts, and manages payments for patient accounts.
β’ Investigates denied claims to determine reasons for rejections and corrects claims accordingly.
β’ Facilitates prompt payment of invoices owed to the organization by sending patient invoices, billing reminders, and making collection calls on outstanding balances.
β’ Reviews and provides weekly and monthly Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) reports, including productivity and financial reports as directed.
β’ Adheres to HIPAA guidelines when accessing and sharing patient information.
β’ Ensures patient and business confidentiality is maintained.
β’ Delivers timely and professional customer service by verifying discrepancies and resolving patient billing issues.
β’ Assists with additional coding, billing, and practice management projects as required.
β’ Performs all other duties as assigned.
β’ High school graduate or equivalent.
β’ At least 5 years of billing experience.
β’ A minimum of three years of preferred experience in the healthcare field.
β’ Knowledge of revenue cycle processes.
β’ Familiarity with medical insurance and general accounting principles.
β’ Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
β’ Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines.
β’ Proficient in data entry.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
β’ Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
β’ Eligible for a quarterly bonus.
