This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee comprehensive billing processes across various offices utilizing the firm's Dynamics 365 billing platform, which includes generating invoices, reviewing work-in-progress (WIP), making adjustments, and managing write-offs.
• Collaborate with office administrators and billing coordinators to assess current billing and collections procedures and suggest actionable improvements.
• Create, document, and implement enhancements and automations to streamline processes, minimize manual tasks, and enhance the accuracy and timeliness of billing.
• Act as a subject-matter expert on the firm's billing system—addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and assisting users in maximizing the platform's capabilities.
• Analyze Power BI reports related to billing, WIP, accounts receivable (AR), and collections to uncover trends, identify anomalies, and facilitate data-driven discussions with office leadership.
• Design and conduct training sessions along with reference materials on billing principles, system functionalities, and best practices tailored for non-technical users.
• Work in tandem with the Controller and FP&A Lead during month-end billing processes, reporting, and performing ad hoc analyses.
• Cultivate strong professional relationships across diverse personalities and work styles, demonstrating patience, clarity, and professionalism.
• A minimum of 2 years of direct billing experience within a professional services setting (such as a CPA firm, law firm, consulting agency, engineering firm, or comparable environment).
• Practical experience with an enterprise billing system—Dynamics 365 is strongly preferred, or other similar platforms like NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Deltek.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including pivots, lookups, and basic formulas) and Word.
• Ability to read and interpret BI reports and dashboards effectively.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for clearly explaining billing concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Patience and interpersonal skills to interact productively with a variety of personalities across multiple offices.
• Keen attention to detail combined with the ability to maintain a big-picture perspective on workflows and processes.
