This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls to arrange, modify, or cancel patient appointments across various specialties.
• Collect and confirm complete and accurate patient demographic and insurance information during the scheduling process.
• Conduct basic real-time checks for insurance eligibility.
• Inform patients about copayments, outstanding balances, and necessary referrals/prior authorizations prior to their visits.
• Adhere to provider-specific scheduling templates, visit-type regulations, and clinical protocols.
• Make outbound reminder calls and follow up on missed appointments and no-shows.
• Manage recall waitlists to ensure provider calendars remain fully booked.
• Address patient inquiries and handle sensitive interactions with empathy and care.
• Appropriately escalate complex issues as needed.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, patient privacy laws, and IKS operational standards.
• Achieve or surpass daily performance targets for call handling time, scheduling accuracy, quality assurance ratings, and attendance.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Bilingual skills are required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare contact center, medical scheduling, or patient access position.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance types (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid), and fundamental RCM concepts.
• Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management (PM) scheduling software.
• Excellent phone etiquette, active listening skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care are essential.
• High accuracy in data entry for patient registration and insurance information capture is required.
• Capability to manage anxious or frustrated patients with professionalism and composure.
• Ability to navigate multiple software applications simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong self-management abilities in a high-volume remote call center environment.
