This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
β’ Facilitate communication among patients, families, healthcare providers, caregivers, and internal teams.
β’ Arrange appointments and follow-up visits while assisting with daily patient coordination.
β’ Ensure accurate patient information and documentation is maintained within EHR/EMR systems.
β’ Manage inbound and outbound patient communications via calls, emails, and follow-ups.
β’ Process referrals and assist with verifying insurance eligibility and obtaining prior authorizations when necessary.
β’ Perform patient follow-ups and help address any scheduling, documentation, or service-related issues.
β’ Collaborate with home care services, medical equipment suppliers, and other healthcare resources as required.
β’ Elevate urgent patient issues, service delays, or care gaps to the relevant team.
β’ Uphold HIPAA compliance and safeguard patient confidentiality at all times.
β’ Prior experience supporting a healthcare organization or medical practice in the U.S.
β’ Proficiency in English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
β’ Background in patient coordination, medical administration, scheduling, intake, or similar healthcare support roles.
β’ Knowledge of EHR/EMR systems and healthcare documentation processes.
β’ Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality.
β’ Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
β’ Capability to manage multiple patients, tasks, and follow-ups concurrently.
β’ Reliable computer, internet access, and a suitable remote work environment.
β’ Previous roles as a Patient Coordinator, Care Coordinator, Intake Coordinator, Home Care Coordinator, or Medical Virtual Assistant are advantageous.
β’ Experience in U.S. home health or home care settings is a plus.
β’ Familiarity with insurance verification or prior authorization processes is helpful.
β’ Experience with HHAeXchange, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar healthcare systems is beneficial.
β’ Previous remote work experience with a U.S.-based healthcare team is a plus.
