This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assists with status-neutral engagement initiatives focused on providing access to HIV biomedical interventions for both prevention and care services;

• Offers direct assistance to individuals seeking to engage in services, which includes conducting intake and assessments for HIV care, PrEP/PEP, and/or gender-affirming care, delivering brief individual and group intervention sessions, providing sexual health education and counseling, aiding patients in navigating insurance/benefits, participating in community outreach and engagement, and scheduling appointments;

• Recognizes and addresses psychosocial barriers that may hinder a patient’s access to care and facilitates connections to supportive services and relevant programs;

• Monitors factors influencing patient access, adherence, and retention in care, keeping current on internal and external resources to ensure continuity of care and actively working to eliminate barriers to services;

• Gathers and analyzes data to assess program progress and effectively manages operations through the use of quality improvement tools;

• Serves as a liaison between local agencies and the program's functions and operations;

• Interprets guidelines, policies, and procedures relevant to program operations;

• Engages in quality improvement initiatives by assisting in necessary adjustments and fostering program innovation. Aids in establishing and implementing goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and systems for the clinic;

• Upholds confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in accordance with the clinic’s policies and procedures;

• Performs related tasks and fulfills responsibilities as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Education and/or Licensure – A Bachelor’s degree in a social science or public health discipline is required. A two-year degree with licensure and/or four years of relevant work experience may be accepted in place of a Bachelor’s degree. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or must be obtained within two days after the hire date.

• Experience – At least 1+ year(s) of direct experience with HIV counseling and testing and/or case management. Knowledge of insurance navigation and appointment scheduling is essential. A minimum of 2+ years of experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ and communities of color, in a human service field such as social work, psychology, counseling, and/or public health is required. (4+ years of part-time work/volunteer experience may be considered in lieu of 2+ years of experience). Ability to perform phlebotomy, or a willingness to be trained in phlebotomy is necessary. Experience in healthcare is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with LGBTQIA+ and/or other marginalized communities is a significant advantage. Proven experience in taking initiative and exercising independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills is essential.

• Additional Requirements – Bilingual (English/Spanish) is mandatory. Familiarity and experience in using a trauma-informed approach while working with individuals. Comfort and experience addressing issues related to substance use, harm reduction, homelessness, mental health, and LGBTQIA+ communities is necessary.
