This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Facilitate collaboration across different functions by collecting insights from subject matter experts (SMEs) and VPI teams to deliver precise product data and installation requirements to applications engineers and OEM partners.
• Impact product performance and quality by making well-informed choices regarding product selection, system design, and integration strategies specifically tailored for OEM applications.
• Enhance engineering processes by utilizing and refining tools such as Installation Quality Assurance, COLS, Advisor, and GCE to support thorough, data-driven decision-making.
• Act as a reliable technical liaison for OEM clients, overseeing specifications, resolving intricate installation challenges, and effectively communicating product updates.
• Convert customer requirements into engineering solutions to ensure that the customer's voice is represented in product specifications and program decisions.
• Guarantee installation excellence by validating prototype performance and ensuring adherence to Cummins installation standards and environmental regulations.
• Foster innovation and continuous improvement by suggesting customer-centric initiatives and employing ALD and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance product and system performance.
• Guide and support junior engineers by sharing knowledge, coordinating technicians’ tasks, and aiding in the development of engineering skills within the team.
• Proficiency in both French and English
• Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng) or eligibility to acquire it
• Customer site visits (20–40% of the time) for meetings, troubleshooting, and installation evaluations in the Pointe-Claire region
• Practical technical work, including the installation of instrumentation, on-machine testing, and problem diagnostics
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, their components, subsystems, and operating principles
• Self-driven with initiative and robust problem-solving abilities
• Travel necessary for projects and meetings to the Pointe-Claire, QC branch
• Occasional travel to the United States (1–2 weeks per year) for training and industry conferences
