Bilingual Hotline Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Respond to incoming phone calls, text messages, and chat inquiries for the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline.

• Carry out assessments to identify the nature of the contacts.

• Offer immediate psychosocial support, evidence-based information, and brief interventions.

• Inform help-seekers about available resources and services related to perinatal mental health.

• Direct help-seekers to suitable services and resources from approved directories.

• Maintain thorough, accurate, detailed, and timely real-time case documentation in Salesforce.

• Ensure that documentation complies with established policies and procedures.

• Uphold professionalism in the virtual workspace and on communication platforms.

• Engage and collaborate with the remote team, including communication during shifts via Slack and other designated mediums.

• Safeguard help-seeker privacy and confidentiality.

• Attend and actively participate in scheduled meetings, training sessions, and development activities for the Hotline project.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory.

• Must be a Licensed Mental Health Clinician, Licensed Healthcare Professional with experience in maternal and child health, or a National or State-Certified Doula, Lactation Consultant, Childbirth Educator, or Peer Specialist.

• A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in your field, particularly with the maternal and child health population.

• Professional liability insurance coverage of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 aggregate.

• Proven expertise in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, internet browsers, and search directories.

• Capable of managing conflict and tolerating distress while assisting help-seekers.

• Skilled in multitasking and handling potentially unpredictable and high-acuity contacts within the mental health context.

• Ability to work independently and complete tasks following established guidelines, routines, and practices.

• Adaptability to immediate changes in policies, procedures, processes, and guidance.

• Must pass a Non–Sensitive Tier II - Moderate Check and Clearance background check administered by HHS.

• Completion of all required Postpartum Support International training is necessary.

• Must be committed to the organization’s vision and mission.

• Must possess and maintain optimal internet speeds.

• Must have a quiet and secure office space to ensure privacy and confidentiality.

• Must fulfill the physical and computer-use requirements of the role.

• A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
