This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Submit accurate claims both electronically and on paper.
• Confirm insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage details.
• Apply the correct CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, and HCPCS codes.
• Process claims for various specialties and different payer types.
• Manage Workers' compensation claims, auto accident claims, and out-of-network billing processes.
• Review Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) and address any claim discrepancies.
• Monitor denied or rejected claims and resubmit corrected versions.
• Follow up with insurance providers regarding unpaid or underpaid claims.
• Appeal claim denials and rectify billing discrepancies.
• Contact patients about outstanding balances and payment arrangements.
• Accurately post payments and reconcile accounts.
• Track accounts receivable aging and prioritize collection efforts.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
• Keep comprehensive records of claims, payments, denials, appeals, and patient billing communications.
• Stay informed on billing regulations, coding changes, and payer requirements.
• Ensure that billing documentation is precise and prepared for audits.
• Proficient in both English and Spanish (spoken and written) — REQUIRED.
• Must have an English proficiency level of C1 or higher.
• At least 1–2 years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management (RCM), or U.S. healthcare administration.
• Previous experience supporting medical practices based in the U.S. is REQUIRED.
• Strong knowledge of insurance claims, accounts receivable follow-up, medical billing workflows, denial management, and EOB interpretation.
• Skilled in CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and HCPCS coding.
• Experience with medical billing platforms such as Kareo, eClinicalWorks, AdvancedMD, DrChrono, or similar systems.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
