This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Handle a high volume of incoming calls and/or initiate a significant number of outgoing calls to borrowers who are delinquent.
• Address delinquent accounts by demanding and collecting the total amount owed, developing a solid repayment plan with the borrower to bring the loan up to date, or proceeding with hardship assistance as necessary.
• Advise borrowers on options available for fulfilling their payment obligations, clarify terms, and set up repayment plans in line with departmental procedures.
• Review financial situations, analyze monthly income and expenditures, and identify the reasons for non-payment.
• Provide Loss Mitigation assistance, and if applicable, thoroughly explain the available options and processes.
• Exhibit comprehensive knowledge and strict adherence to federal regulations and collection laws (FDCPA).
• Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Employ proper protocols for borrowers, clients, state, and federal regulations, along with best practices.
• Maintain and document mortgage collection systems and databases, recording all activities and communications.
• Process mortgage loan payments in line with established guidelines.
• Consistently achieve or surpass monthly targets.
• Reconcile accounts with incorrectly applied payments.
• Complete annual regulatory compliance training successfully.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
• High School diploma or its equivalent.
• Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft applications and loan servicing platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, demonstrating the ability to interact positively and professionally with all levels of both internal and external stakeholders.
• Capability to negotiate effectively and show assertiveness and empathy when necessary to achieve favorable resolutions.
• Ability to comprehend and articulate financial matters, modifications, and foreclosure details in a manner that is understandable to the affected audiences.
• Bilingual in Spanish - must successfully complete bilingual certification.
