BI & Analytics Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain uMed's business intelligence and analytics initiatives.

• Create and oversee data preparation workflows, data models, query tables, datasets, pipelines, reports, and dashboards using Zoho Analytics.

• Conduct ad hoc analyses to address business, operational, and clinical research inquiries.

• Utilize SQL to explore underlying datasets and warehouse information, resolve discrepancies, and trace problems through BI and upstream data layers.

• Supervise datasets, pipelines, scheduled refreshes, reports, and dashboards to ensure data quality and reliability.

• Validate changes in BI and upstream releases while evaluating dependencies and potential downstream effects.

• Enhance and maintain the Zoho Analytics environment by eliminating obsolete or inefficient components.

• Document data models, transformations, relationships, calculations, dependencies, sources, metrics, and reporting definitions comprehensively.

• Address issues with failed refreshes, faulty reports, incorrect calculations, and unexpected data; manage Zoho support tickets when necessary.

• Collaborate with Product, Operations, Clinical, Commercial, Enterprise Data, and Application teams to convert business queries into reporting and analytical solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience working with healthcare or clinical research data, with an awareness of the complexities and sensitivities involved.

• Skilled in developing BI and analytics solutions using Zoho Analytics, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar BI platforms.

• Proficient in SQL, with experience in querying, joining, transforming, and validating datasets.

• Strong grasp of relational data modeling, including relationships, keys, joins, cardinality, and the influence of data model design on reporting and aggregation.

• Experience in constructing and managing datasets and data preparation or transformation workflows for reporting and analytics.

• Background in developing reports and dashboards for operational, analytical, and management purposes.

• Experience conducting ad hoc data analysis to resolve business inquiries.

• Knowledge of best practices in data management and the ability to implement them in BI and analytics developments.

• Capability to systematically investigate data discrepancies and trace issues across various layers of a data solution.

• Experience in modifying existing BI solutions while understanding their dependencies and downstream implications.

• Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality.

• Ability to comprehend business needs and translate them into effective analytical and reporting solutions.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to work independently on complex data inquiries.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, effectively interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Desirable: Practical experience with Zoho Analytics, encompassing data preparation, data modeling, Query Tables, pipelines, reports, and dashboards.

• Desirable: Experience querying data stored in AWS, particularly Amazon Redshift, Athena, and S3.

• Desirable: Experience in implementing or maintaining data quality checks and monitoring processes.

• Desirable: Familiarity with large or complex datasets.

• Desirable: Experience in a startup or scale-up environment.
