Benefits Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the administration of employee benefit programs such as life insurance, healthcare coverage, disability, retirement, and other related offerings.

• Propose changes to benefits based on employee input and various data sources.

• Manage the delivery of benefits and the transfer of funds in collaboration with benefit vendors.

• Assist HR Business Partners with communication and administrative tasks related to benefit programs.

• Engage in the development of policies and procedures concerning employee benefits.

• Aid in the enrollment processes for benefit programs and support during life events.

• Address complex inquiries related to benefits.

• Collaborate with employees and external vendors to ensure a smooth benefits experience.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ideally, 2 or more years of experience in leave of absence administration, FMLA, or other relevant human resources roles.

• Familiarity with FMLA, state and local leave regulations, disability, and paid leave management.

• Previous experience working with third-party disability vendors.

• Exceptional written communication abilities.

• Outstanding verbal communication skills.

• Strong analytical capabilities.

• Proficient problem-solving skills.

• Empathetic approach.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education or work.

• No prior experience is necessary.

• Frequent use of a keyboard/data entry required.

• Capability to meet the physical requirements listed, including the ability to lift/carry and push/pull objects.

• No specific professional license or certification is required.
