Benefit Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Addresses all inquiries related to the company's benefit programs.

• Reviews the benefits of all employees to ensure they are receiving appropriate coverage.

• Collaborates with healthcare providers and investment brokers.

• Consults with management on new and innovative benefits plans.

• Focuses on FMLA, STD/LTD, and workers' compensation cases, ensuring compliance with state and national regulations.

• Guarantees adherence to legislation such as PPACA, ERISA, and COBRA.

• Aids in the communication and education of benefits to current employees.

• Monitors and audits benefit accounts alongside payroll adjustments and deductions.

• Assists with benefits-related documentation in our HRIS.

• Supports our annual open enrollment presentations and communications.

• Maintains comprehensive employee records concerning benefits, retirement, and life plans.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.

• 5 years of relevant experience.

• Experience in eligibility, claims, and/or compliance processing.

• Proficient in MS Office 365.

• Excellent communication skills are essential.

• Demonstrates knowledge of benefits and HRIS systems.

• Bilingual: English/Spanish.

• Detail-oriented, capable of managing conflict, technically proficient, and a collaborative leader.
