Behavioral Health Clinical Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Direct assigned clinical operations programs and teams.

• Supervise daily execution while enhancing performance, quality, efficiency, and scalability.

• Provide operational leadership for behavioral health programs and workflows, including care coordination, referrals, and support for patients and providers.

• Design, implement, and manage workflows, procedures, performance measures, escalation pathways, and operational controls for clinical programs.

• Lead, mentor, and develop team members in clinical and operational roles through coaching, performance management, goal setting, professional development, and accountability.

• Collaborate with Behavioral Leaders, Nursing, Medical Affairs, Operations, Product, and Technology.

• Identify root causes, eliminate unnecessary manual processes, and create sustainable solutions.

• Establish, monitor, analyze, and report on operational and clinical performance metrics.

• Use data to identify trends, emerging risks, capacity issues, and opportunities for improvement.

• Guide teams through new programs, technology updates, workflow redesigns, and organizational initiatives.

• Provide leadership and decision-making support for complex escalations involving patients, providers, and workflows.

• Ensure operational compliance with organizational policies, clinical standards, regulatory requirements, privacy protocols, and best practices.

• Assist with staffing, scheduling, workload management, and resource planning.

• Develop and implement onboarding, training, job aids, procedures, and resources for performance support.

• Offer leadership during urgent operational situations, system outages, and significant workflow disruptions.

• Lead or engage in cross-functional initiatives and special projects.

• Safeguard Protected Health Information and Personally Identifiable Information in line with applicable regulations and company policies.

• Carry out duties in a remote, HIPAA-compliant home office with minimal travel.

• Familiarity with electronic medical records and care management platforms.

• Proficiency in Excel.

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, social work, psychology, business, operations, or equivalent relevant healthcare operations experience may be accepted.

• Experience in healthcare operations, clinical operations, behavioral health operations, care coordination, or a similar healthcare environment.

• Previous leadership experience with accountability for people, programs, workflows, or operational performance.

• Experience in enhancing processes, implementing workflows, or managing healthcare programs.

• Prior experience supporting behavioral health or psychiatric services is preferred.

• Familiarity with telehealth, virtual care, managed care, health plans, medical groups, or complex healthcare delivery systems is preferred.

• Experience in leading cross-functional teams is preferred.

• Clinical licensure such as RN, LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LPS, CCM, or comparable credentials is preferred.

• Ability to work in a HIPAA-compliant home office environment.

• Must adhere to relevant privacy and security regulations and MD Live policies.

• Internet connection via cable broadband or fiber optic service with a minimum of 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload is required for home working.
