This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Successfully complete a comprehensive full-time training program for new Investigators that lasts between 6 to 7 weeks, conducted both virtually and in person.
• Engage in daily travel to conduct in-person federal background investigations, evaluating the employment suitability of individuals who require access to sensitive or classified information from the U.S. Government.
• Organize and conduct face-to-face interviews with various individuals, including subjects, neighbors, employers, friends, and family members.
• Execute record searches at local police agencies, courthouses, educational institutions, financial establishments, and medical/mental health facilities.
• Accurately type and report all gathered information clearly and concisely within a government-issued computer system.
• Operate autonomously while working collaboratively with a team of Investigators and a Field Manager.
• A minimum of 4 years of general work experience, or a bachelor's degree may be accepted.
• Prior experience in conducting federal background investigations is preferred.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• An active federal background investigation with a T5 adjudication is preferred.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Willingness to travel locally and out-of-area as necessary.
• A home office setup is mandatory.
• Temporary Duty Assignments or remote travel for 14 to 30 days away from home may be required.
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the Tallahassee city center.
• A valid driver's license and regular access to reliable transportation are essential.
• Adequate motor vehicle insurance is necessary.
• Typing skills should be accurate and efficient, with a recommended speed of 40+ WPM.
• Ability to work simultaneously across multiple computer programs is required.
• Must be able to speak for extended durations and have sufficient hearing for in-person and phone communication.
• Capable of recording, reading, and transcribing words and numbers with precision.
• Strong grammar and writing skills are essential.
• Ability to maintain professional interactions, write for extended periods, meet attendance and punctuality standards, and uphold attention to detail.
• High levels of confidentiality, ethics, and integrity are essential.
• Professional attire is required.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 10 pounds, climb stairs, walk extensively, stand for long durations, and drive in adverse or nighttime conditions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with remote supervision.
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and prioritization skills are necessary.
• Proficient writing and communication abilities are required.
• Status as a full-time employee.
