Backend Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Construct media servers that facilitate GoTo Meeting, GoTo Webinar, and GoTo Connect.

• Design, develop, test, and manage the session control backend.

• Create and develop services primarily utilizing NodeJS and TypeScript.

• Engage with additional technologies such as C++.

• Leverage container and cloud technologies, including Kubernetes, Linux, and Docker.

• Implement DevOps principles and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.

• Share responsibility for feature delivery and service operations, including on-call duties.

• Deliver features from start to finish using contemporary agile software craftsmanship practices.

• Collaborate with colleagues within and outside the RTC team.

• Work alongside engineering teams across Germany, Canada, and India in a distributed development setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

• 2–5 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Proven experience in building NodeJS-based microservices using TypeScript in cloud settings such as AWS.

• Strong comprehension of distributed systems.

• Practical experience with Linux, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and bash scripting.

• Familiarity with networking and communication protocols, including HTTP, WebSockets, RTP, SIP, TCP/UDP, or WebRTC.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• A mindset geared towards continuous learning.
