Backend PHP Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the development, upkeep, and expansion of the server-side systems that drive Smooth’s mobile and web applications.

• Creates robust APIs for mobile clients and integrates with external platforms to facilitate Smooth’s comprehensive QSR and retail offerings.

• Constructs and maintains scalable backend services utilizing PHP (primarily Symfony), MySQL, and contemporary web technologies.

• Engages in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, working closely with Product, QA, and Front-End teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years as an intermediate+ developer with demonstrated backend proficiency (PHP/Symfony, MySQL, APIs, integrations).

• Open to in-person collaboration, possessing strong verbal and written communication skills, and experience in small, fast-paced environments.

• Strong capability to interpret requirements, articulate them clearly, and propose viable solution paths.

• Exceptional communication skills and cultural alignment are as critical as technical expertise.

• Ability to proactively navigate challenges and think beyond the immediate task at hand.
