This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Become a key contributor in developing and managing intricate systems within the product.
• Design backend services and infrastructure elements for high-traffic production environments.
• Diagnose incidents and improve the observability and dependability of our services.
• Guarantee performance, reliability, and ease of operation in system management.
• Engage in on-call rotations to maintain service health and gain insights into customer challenges.
• You possess extensive experience in constructing backend services, distributed systems, infrastructure components, or high-traffic production systems.
• Proficiency in Python is essential for this position.
• You are at ease working close to production: troubleshooting incidents, comprehending system behavior, enhancing observability, and boosting service reliability.
• You prioritize performance, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and operational simplicity.
• You are pragmatic: capable of quick action when necessary while recognizing when stability, safety, and maintainability take precedence.
• You take initiative, ensure follow-through, and make strides even amidst ambiguity.
• You have a passion for data and SQL, and you are intrigued by the workings of real-time analytical systems.
• You communicate effectively in writing, which is vital as we collaborate asynchronously, document decisions, write operational notes, and share context across teams.
• You utilize AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, or others as an integral part of your daily activities, from development and debugging to idea exploration, understanding unfamiliar code, and reviewing modifications. Your effective use of these tools significantly influences your productivity and speed.
• You are fluent in both English and Spanish. English is the primary language at Tinybird, while Spanish is commonly used within the Product team.
• You are prepared to participate in on-call rotations, not only to ensure service health but also to understand the genuine issues faced by our customers and internal teams.
