Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage scalable backend systems that deliver AI-driven features in production.

• Create high-performance inference pipelines, orchestration workflows, and establish service boundaries around machine learning models.

• Take responsibility for system health and observability, which includes performance monitoring, structured logging, alerting, and incident response.

• Enhance latency and throughput by utilizing intelligent caching, request batching, and response streaming.

• Work collaboratively with client and machine learning engineers to provide stable, high-efficiency APIs for both mobile and desktop applications.

• Manage the inference and orchestration layer that powers intelligent features across client platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in core backend software engineering within production settings.

• Proficiency in Python and Node.js.

• Experience with infrastructure tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Practical knowledge of building and maintaining high-throughput, low-latency distributed microservices.

• Strong grasp of contemporary AI inference patterns, including large language models (LLMs), vector embeddings, and multimodal architectures.

• Hands-on experience with debugging and profiling complex distributed systems under substantial load.

• Familiarity with commercial AI APIs like OpenAI and Anthropic.

• Knowledge of self-hosted open-source models.

• A production-focused mindset prioritizing shipping, observing live system behavior, and rapid iteration.
