Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage features and services within Flag Delivery's streaming and polling infrastructure.

• Take full ownership of well-defined projects from start to finish, encompassing design, implementation, deployment, and operational support.

• Diagnose and resolve production issues while participating in the team's on-call support rotation.

• Produce maintainable, thoroughly tested code and engage in code and design review processes.

• Enhance the observability and reliability of the codebase you manage.

• Collaborate effectively with SDK Engineering, Data Platform, and product-engineering teams on interdisciplinary projects.

• Gain expertise in distributed systems and production operations under the mentorship of senior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in software engineering focused on building production services.

• Proficient in at least one backend programming language, such as Go, Rust, Python, or Java.

• Familiar with cloud platforms, such as AWS or similar services.

• Strong foundation in data structures, concurrency, API design, and testing methodologies.

• Experienced in troubleshooting real-world production issues.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

• Familiar with observability tools and comfortable analyzing dashboards, logs, and traces.

• Capable of breaking down ambiguous tasks, asking insightful questions, and driving projects to completion.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen interest in learning from constructive feedback.
