Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Develop key components of application architecture, encompassing user interface, middleware, and infrastructure.

• Maintain consistent application design standards across the entire enterprise.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure architecture aligns with the specific application needs of the business.

• Create and execute application development plans for both new and existing applications.

• Lead the application development team while overseeing the design, testing, and modification phases.

• Present application prototypes and incorporate user feedback into the development process.

• Write scripts and code for applications; manage installation and updates of applications.

• Provide mentorship to junior application developers and deliver technical support to end-users.

• Conduct diagnostic tests and execute debugging procedures.

• Carry out application integration, maintenance, upgrades, and migrations.

• Document the processes, procedures, and standards involved in application development.

• Integrate trends in application architecture into ongoing development projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or relevant industry experience.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with a preference for backend or distributed systems.

• Proficient in core Java and knowledgeable about the Spring framework.

• Skilled in MySQL and experienced with at least one NoSQL database.

• Expertise in distributed system design and familiarity with at least one messaging middleware along with its underlying design principles.

• Ability to handle stress effectively and quickly acquire new knowledge.

• Strong cross-team communication abilities.
