Backend Developer, PHP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services utilizing PHP.

• Create efficient, scalable, and secure server-side logic for a high-traffic financial platform.

• Design relational database schemas, develop complex queries, and enhance performance.

• Integrate external services, payment gateways, data providers, and internal APIs.

• Collaborate with front-end developers on system integration efforts.

• Engage in code reviews and maintain high standards in backend engineering.

• Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, bugs, and security issues.

• Assist in technical documentation and ensure well-organized codebases.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in backend development, primarily focused on PHP.

• Comprehensive understanding of RESTful API design principles and industry best practices.

• Extensive experience with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL, covering schema design and query optimization.

• Strong knowledge of backend security principles, including authentication, authorization, data management, and input validation.

• Experience using Git in a collaborative development environment.

• Proficient in writing clean, efficient, and thoroughly tested code.

• Excellent analytical and debugging abilities with a methodical approach to problem-solving.

• Experience in fintech, trading, or regulated financial services environments is a plus.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture or event-driven systems is a plus.

• Exposure to AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus.

• Experience with RabbitMQ or Kafka is a plus.

• Knowledge of caching strategies using Redis or Memcached is a plus.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Docker is a plus.
