Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java 11+ / 20 and Spring Boot.

• Create and implement microservices-based solutions.

• Engage in distributed, scalable, and resilient architectures.

• Perform corrective, preventive, and evolutionary maintenance.

• Design, build, publish, and maintain REST APIs.

• Manage APIs using APIGEE / API Connect and configure proxies.

• Implement security measures, access controls, quotas, and traffic limitations.

• Oversee the API lifecycle from development to production.

• Monitor service consumption, performance, and availability.

• Participate in integrations between internal and external applications.

• Design solutions using service-oriented architecture patterns.

• Collaborate with development, architecture, and platform teams.

• Support the modernization and decoupling of monolithic applications.

• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.

• Manage version control and code using GitHub.

• Develop unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.

• Ensure quality, security, and performance; participate in code reviews.

• Analyze and resolve application vulnerabilities and issues.

• Investigate production incidents and conduct root cause analysis.

• Propose enhancements for performance, availability, and scalability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in microservices architecture, enterprise API development, and application integration.

• Java 10+ or higher (20).

• Proficient in Spring Boot.

• Experience in designing and implementing microservices-based architectures.

• Development, maintenance, and optimization of REST APIs.

• Familiarity with .NET / .NET Core.

• Knowledge of integration patterns and distributed architecture.

• Shell Scripting and AWK skills.

• Experience with APIGEE / API Connect.

• Creation and management of API proxies.

• Design and publication of corporate APIs.

• API lifecycle management.

• Monitoring, metrics, and governance of APIs.

• Understanding of OAuth2, JWT, API Keys, and API security.

• Knowledge of quotas, consumption limits, traffic management, and rate limiting.

• Linux / Unix and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) experience.

• Proficient with GitHub, Git, Jenkins, and GitLab CI/CD.

• Experience in automating pipelines, version control, and branch management.

• Familiarity with JUnit, Mockito, unit, and integration testing.

• Desirable knowledge of Docker, OpenShift, Kafka, Oracle, SQL, observability, monitoring, Nexus or Artifactory, Scrum/Kanban, Jira, and ServiceNow.

• Willingness to participate in shifts, on-call duties, and after-hours activities.
