Azure Database Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Engage in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and possible ongoing support of Azure Databases and Data Lakes, with a focus on the Data Lakehouse and integrated data reserves.

• Manage, maintain, and secure data to ensure efficient and dependable storage solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data workflows and facilitate data-driven decision-making.

• Apply best practices for data security and integrity within Azure environments.

• Mentor other Database Engineers.

• Design and develop both relational and non-relational databases in Azure.

• Create and implement data transformations.

• Streamline data access patterns.

• Keep essential documentation up to date.

• Work with teams to adhere to security standards.

• Establish disaster recovery solutions.

• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of work experience; 7 years of experience is preferred.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing Azure data lakes along with relational and non-relational databases.

• Familiarity with Databricks.

• Experience with Oracle databases.

• Strong background in developing data transformation solutions and integrating cloud infrastructure.

• Extensive experience in coding and testing programs and scripts for data loading utilizing Azure data load utilities.

• Robust experience with CI/CD pipelines.

• Understanding of cloud computing concepts.

• Proficient with Azure Monitor, Azure Data Factory, SQL Analytics, Query Performance Insight, Azure Resource Manager, and Azure CLI/PowerShell.

• Experience in mentoring others in relevant technologies.

• Background in implementing backup and recovery strategies using Azure Backup or geo-replication.

• Knowledge of role-based access control, encryption, and network security.

• Understanding of data concepts, data modeling, schema design, and indexing strategies.

• Familiarity with Azure SQL instances, managed instances, elastic pools, Data Warehouse Administration, and Teradata Data Warehouse.
