Azure Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop a standardized business vocabulary and articulate strategic data requirements.

• Establish and execute data governance policies, procedures, and frameworks.

• Align the data strategy with business objectives and document both current and desired states using business process and data journey diagrams.

• Create and refine conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

• Set data standards, naming conventions, and guidelines for data classification.

• Assess database technologies and their solutions.

• Design and manage data platforms, which encompass relational, NoSQL, data warehousing, and Big Data solutions.

• Enhance database performance, guarantee data security, and implement strategies for backup and recovery.

• Craft data integration solutions, ETL processes, and data pipelines; provide documentation for source-to-target mappings.

• Discover opportunities for data acquisition.

• Utilize data architecture patterns for data lakes, master data management systems, and machine learning-enhanced data flows.

• Execute data profiling and cleansing processes to enhance data quality.

• Lead requirements workshops and compile data inventory documentation.

• Convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Assess emerging tools, technologies, and frameworks.

• Provide guidance to developers and team members on data-related topics.

• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and training initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in the Data & Analytics field.

• Demonstrated experience as a Data Architect or in a comparable role, preferably in a complex organizational environment.

• Comprehensive knowledge of data management principles, data modeling techniques, database design, and data integration processes.

• Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance policies, procedures, and frameworks.

• Awareness of industry best practices and emerging trends in data management and governance.

• Capability to design and create conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

• Strong grasp of data modeling best practices, including normalization, denormalization, generalization, and performance optimization.

• Proficiency with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL, along with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, and DynamoDB.

• Understanding of database management systems, data warehousing, data integration technologies, and Big Data solutions.

• Familiarity with cloud-based database, warehouse, and lakehouse platforms.

• Experience in designing and implementing ETL processes and data pipelines.

• Insight into Business Intelligence and data analytics requirements.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with data profiling, cleansing, harmonization, and quality assessment techniques.

• Knowledge of data security and privacy regulations such as GDPR or CCPA, including encryption, access controls, and data masking.

• Essential skills include: Data Modelling and Design; Data Management; Requirement Gathering and Analysis; Data Processing; Technical Leadership; Data Quality; Azure Services – Synapse, ADF, ADL; Technical Implementation and Monitoring; proficiency in one of Python, PySpark, R, or Scala.
