This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee the growth, operational efficiency, delivery execution, workforce management, and leadership of the AWS Platform Services customer execution team.
• Convert AWS practice strategy and growth objectives into workforce, capability, delivery, and investment plans.
• Develop and manage a scalable AWS practice encompassing migration, modernization, cloud foundations, platform engineering, security, application modernization, data, AI, and managed cloud capabilities.
• Set up operating rhythms for pipeline visibility, staffing, utilization, delivery performance, capability development, and internal priorities.
• Take ownership of workforce allocation, bench management, utilization, capacity planning, staffing speed, and escalation of delivery risks.
• Govern delivery portfolios through project evaluations, technical health assessments, architecture assurance, recovery actions, and customer engagement when leadership intervention is necessary.
• Guide AWS Platform Architects, engineers, consultants, and delivery leads through goal setting, one-on-ones, performance reviews, coaching, feedback, recognition, and corrective measures.
• Create career development plans, certification pathways, succession coverage, hiring strategies, onboarding processes, retention strategies, and performance evaluations.
• Analyze SOWs, staffing structures, role distributions, effort estimations, delivery schedules, dependencies, execution feasibility, and technical risks prior to customer commitments.
• Enhance solution-to-delivery transitions using documented assumptions, acceptance criteria, lessons learned, and reusable delivery methodologies.
• Offer architectural guidance across AWS platform services while advocating for the AWS Well-Architected Framework, security-by-design, infrastructure as code, automation, operational readiness, and cost-effective architecture.
• Collaborate with AWS, sales, strategy, solutions, and delivery leadership to align capacity, capability, customer commitments, and practice expansion.
• Create measurable practice scorecards and enhance utilization, delivery results, talent advancement, predictability, and scalable AWS capacity.
• Extensive experience leading cloud consulting, professional services, or technology delivery organizations with direct accountability for people management.
• Proven experience managing AWS-focused teams that deliver complex customer transformation initiatives.
• Strong architectural knowledge across a wide range of AWS platform services.
• Ability to assess technical strategies, identify risks, and mentor senior technical professionals.
• Demonstrated experience in managing workforce allocation, utilization, bench management, capacity planning, hiring, performance, and talent development within a consulting context.
• Experience overseeing delivery portfolios with respect to scope, schedule, quality, financial performance, and customer outcomes.
• Proven experience in reviewing or creating statements of work, delivery estimates, staffing models, assumptions, dependencies, and risk management provisions.
• Capability to operate across technical, commercial, delivery, and people-leadership domains.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored for executives, customers, AWS, and delivery teams.
• AWS Associate-level certifications are mandatory (“a must-have”).
• Experience in a technical role at some point in your career.
• AWS Certified Professional or an equivalent advanced AWS certification is preferred.
• Additional AWS specialty or professional certifications are advantageous.
• Familiarity with AWS partner programs, competencies, funding mechanisms, opportunity management, or co-sell initiatives is preferred.
• Experience in building or scaling practices related to cloud foundations, platform engineering, security, migration, application modernization, data, AI, and cloud operations is preferred.
• Experience leading distributed or geographically dispersed consulting teams is preferred.
• Experience working with enterprise or regulated-industry clients and managing complex multi-workstream programs is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
• Expert-level experience is required.
