AWS Financial Operations, FinOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and assess AWS usage and expenditure utilizing tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, CloudHealth, CloudCheckr, or comparable solutions.

• Develop and sustain dashboards that offer insights into cloud financial metrics for relevant stakeholders.

• Work in conjunction with engineering and product teams to pinpoint cost-saving opportunities while maintaining performance and reliability.

• Execute tagging strategies and enforce policies to guarantee precise cost allocation and reporting.

• Deliver comprehensive forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis pertaining to cloud expenditures.

• Contribute to the formulation of cloud governance policies and educate teams on FinOps best practices.

• Suggest Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and alternative AWS pricing strategies to enhance cost efficiency.

• Engage in cloud cost audits and assist in designing cost-effective architectures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (Master's Preferred) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in cloud cost optimization, FinOps, or cloud engineering with a focus on AWS.

• Proven expertise in machine learning and statistical modeling.

• Established history of successful analytical projects.

• Strong grasp of AWS pricing models, services, and cost management tools.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and automation techniques.

• Skilled in generating reports and dashboards utilizing tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or AWS-native instruments.

• Familiarity with FinOps principles and a keen interest in cloud financial management.
