This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.
• Design, provision, and sustain secure AWS environments across various accounts and lifecycle phases.
• Create reusable Terraform modules, manage remote state, and uphold version-controlled infrastructure configurations and deployment standards.
• Oversee AWS compute, storage, database, container, serverless, and networking services.
• Architect and maintain VPCs, routing, security groups, load balancers, DNS, VPN, and private connectivity.
• Implement scalable and highly available infrastructure utilizing Auto Scaling, Multi-AZ, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Develop and support CI/CD infrastructure and environment promotion workflows, including self-hosted GitHub Actions runners on EC2.
• Enforce IAM, encryption, secrets management, logging, monitoring, alerting, and security baseline controls.
• Monitor infrastructure, resolve incidents, apply patches, validate backups, and enhance performance and cost efficiency.
• Assist with account governance, tagging, configuration compliance, capacity planning, and regulated infrastructure changes.
• Produce architecture diagrams, Terraform standards, operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and disaster recovery documentation.
• Assess AWS services and design alternatives based on security, reliability, operational complexity, performance, and cost.
• Practical experience in designing, deploying, and managing AWS infrastructure.
• Extensive experience in authoring and maintaining Terraform modules or similar infrastructure-as-code solutions.
• Proficient knowledge of core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS or Aurora, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, encompassing routing, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and private connectivity.
• Experience with Docker and AWS container platforms like ECS or EKS.
• Proven experience in supporting CI/CD pipelines and facilitating infrastructure changes across multiple environments.
• Knowledgeable in IAM, encryption, secrets management, monitoring, highly available architectures, and disaster recovery.
• Experience in troubleshooting production infrastructure, connectivity, permissions, capacity, or deployment challenges.
• Familiarity with Git workflows, scripting, configuration management, and automated infrastructure validation.
• Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
• Relevant AWS certification.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, multi-account governance, or centralized networking.
• Experience operating self-hosted CI/CD runners or GitHub Actions infrastructure.
• Experience with observability, infrastructure security, or regulated environments.
• Familiarity with data platforms, event-driven architectures, or hybrid cloud integrations.
• Knowledge of CMS ARC-AMPE, NIST SP 800-53, and HIPAA requirements.
• Experience implementing cloud controls that adhere to security and compliance requirements.
