AWS Cloud Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Serve as the L3 escalation point for intricate Cloud, DevOps, Kubernetes, infrastructure, and deployment challenges.

• Spearhead significant technical endeavors across both production and non-production settings.

• Take ownership of complex infrastructure modifications, upgrades, migrations, and platform enhancements.

• Direct and coordinate Disaster Recovery planning, restoration testing, failover/failback processes, recovery, validation, and runbook development.

• Design and implement infrastructure utilizing Terraform and manage reusable Terraform modules.

• Review Terraform code and infrastructure modifications executed by L1/L2 engineers.

• Establish Terraform coding standards, repository structures, and best implementation practices.

• Develop reusable Ansible roles, playbooks, and automation workflows.

• Utilize AWX to automate server configuration, patching, application deployment, infrastructure operations, and routine BAU tasks.

• Transform manual operational tasks into automated workflows.

• Design and maintain deployments based on ArgoCD and adopt GitOps methodologies for Kubernetes and application rollouts.

• Manage and troubleshoot ArgoCD applications, synchronization issues, configuration drift, deployment failures, environment promotions, and rollback procedures.

• Design and sustain Kubernetes workloads operating on Amazon EKS.

• Create and maintain reusable Helm Charts, outlining standards for Helm values, templates, and environment-specific configurations.

• Design and enhance CI/CD deployment processes, providing support for Jenkins and other CI/CD automation tools.

• Lead automation projects across Cloud and DevOps platforms using Terraform, Ansible/AWX, Bash, Python, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Define and uphold technical standards for infrastructure as code, Terraform, GitOps, Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD, automation, cloud operations, patching, and deployment methodologies.

• Establish reusable templates, modules, pipelines, and automation frameworks.

• Conduct technical evaluations for L1/L2 changes.

• Lead complex production incidents and carry out Root Cause Analysis.

• Identify recurring issues and implement lasting automated solutions.

• Enhance monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational reliability.

• Engage in architecture and technical design discussions.

• Oversee production deployments, infrastructure upgrades, patching, and maintenance tasks.

• Mentor and provide technical direction to L1/L2 engineers.

• Create and maintain SOPs, runbooks, technical standards, architecture documentation, DR documentation, and operational procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–12 years of pertinent experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or a similar field is essential.

• Demonstrated hands-on expertise in AWS, Amazon EKS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Terragrunt, AWX, Ansible, ArgoCD, GitOps, Helm, Docker, Jenkins, CI/CD, Git, Linux, Windows, Bash/Python, SSL/TLS, infrastructure automation, Disaster Recovery, monitoring and logging, production troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis.

• Ability to independently lead technical initiatives.

• Capacity to manage complex Cloud and DevOps changes.

• Proficiency in designing and implementing automation solutions.

• Capability to oversee Disaster Recovery activities.

• Skill in executing GitOps with ArgoCD.

• Competence in building automation solutions using AWX/Ansible.

• Expertise in developing and reviewing Terraform code.

• Ability to define technical standards and best practices.

• Drive operational enhancements effectively.

• Mentor L1/L2 engineers competently.

• Handle intricate production incidents and conduct Root Cause Analysis.
