AVP, Actuarial Modernization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive pricing activities for personal lines products, encompassing indications, segmentation assessments, trend selections, and new product pricing.

• Develop and enhance pricing tools, analytical frameworks, and automated processes that boost efficiency, rigor, consistency, and insights.

• Collaborate closely with product, underwriting, and business leaders to synchronize pricing strategy with operational execution.

• Act as a technical mentor, elevating the standards of actuarial craftsmanship, precision, and judgment within the team.

• Create, refine, and validate actuarial methodologies that enhance rate adequacy, risk differentiation, and overall portfolio performance.

• Incorporate broader factors affecting pricing performance into actuarial analyses, including catastrophe exposure, reinsurance effects, and evolving risk conditions where applicable.

• Simplify complex technical findings into straightforward recommendations for senior leadership and non-actuarial stakeholders.

• Enhance actuarial governance, documentation standards, and analytical quality throughout the pricing organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• FCAS or Career ACAS designation.

• Over 7 years of experience in personal lines pricing, including familiarity with CAT and reinsurance modeling outputs.

• Advanced understanding of actuarial pricing techniques (indications, trends, segmentation).

• Proficient in SQL/Python for actuarial analysis and modeling, along with advanced Excel skills for constructing models and frameworks.

• Proven experience in independently conducting complex technical analyses.

• Interest in and experience with generative AI to enhance actuarial functions.
