AV & BMS Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop AV & BMS engineering systems tailored for luxury villas and boutique hotels, ensuring adherence to local building regulations, industry standards, and client specifications.

• Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and fellow engineers to seamlessly integrate systems into projects.

• Engage in spatial coordination with architectural and structural models, research methodologies, equipment, and systems to maintain initial design intent and an exceptional user experience.

• Address technical challenges and issues that arise during the design phase.

• Lead the creation of detailed drawings, technical documentation, and system specifications utilizing CAD tools, with support from BIM modelers.

• Conduct market research to stay informed about updated features and equipment.

• Oversee equipment selection to ensure alignment with project requirements and sustainability objectives.

• Contribute insights during value engineering discussions to balance cost, quality, and performance.

• Supervise the design development process and review as well as approve deliverables from external designers, consultants, and surveyors.

• Stay informed on technologies, trends, and regulations pertinent to AV & BMS systems within the luxury and hospitality industries.

• Work autonomously, coordinating with the team as necessary, delivering weekly intermediate results, and reporting to an MEP design manager while collaborating with the wider design team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Building Engineering with a focus on AV & BMS systems.

• 4 to 10 years of experience in design consultancy or as a general contractor.

• Experience with low-rise residential and hospitality projects, including private residences, villas, hotels, and resorts.

• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD software.

• Professional proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
