Automotive Business Development Director – Southeast/Atlantic

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Driving profitable growth by establishing new client partnerships.

• Understanding the needs of clients (i.e., dealerships), presenting the Assurant Dealer Services value proposition, evaluating strategic alignment, and effectively positioning products and solutions to meet those needs.

• Building, nurturing, and sustaining relationships with potential dealers to expand new business opportunities by offering support, information, and guidance; exploring and suggesting new opportunities; analyzing dealership performance/production and recommending enhancements in products, processes, and services.

• Managing the product launch strategy which includes conducting market research, competitor analysis, assessing product demand, and supporting the launch and installation of new clients to ensure a positive experience for them.

• Collaborating with the field team to identify existing opportunities, working together on presentation creation and lead generation by jointly engaging in prospecting and sales initiatives to achieve results for both the company and clients.

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams in Marketing, Product Development, and Communications to design, execute, and assess marketing strategies.

• Participating in industry trade shows, client events, and other networking opportunities and relevant meetings/seminars.

• Ensuring timely and precise sales reporting within the Sales Performance Management tool (i.e., Salesforce) is accomplished.

• Traveling domestically to meet with industry partners, clients, and for other business development opportunities as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 10 years of proven Business to Business sales experience in F&I products, training, and reinsurance.

• 15 years of experience is preferred.

• Experience in a retail management role within the automotive industry is advantageous.

• Strong knowledge of various reinsurance structures available to Automotive Dealers is highly preferred.

• Exceptional sales, negotiation, and team-building abilities are essential.

• Proficiency in utilizing PowerPoint for presentations is required, as well as familiarity with all other Microsoft Office applications (Word, Copilot, Excel, etc.).

• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

• A valid driver's license and the capacity to travel.

• Extensive network and a strong understanding of F&I Products, Training, and Reinsurance structures.
