This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

• Evaluate both functional and non-functional requirements to determine the API and backend testing necessities.

• Create and implement automated test scripts for REST, SOAP, and microservices interfaces.

• Assess API responses, payloads, and data integrity through tools such as Postman, Swagger, and SOAP UI.

• Conduct integration and regression testing for backend systems.

• Develop and sustain automation frameworks utilizing Python, Java, or Groovy.

• Validate backend data through SQL databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.

• Diagnose API and data issues via log analysis and diagnostic tools.

• Incorporate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.

• Assist in load and performance testing with JMeter or comparable tools.

• Engage in code reviews and offer suggestions to enhance automation coverage.

• Work collaboratively with developers, DevOps, and QA teams to guarantee system quality and reliability.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline along with 10 years of professional experience.

• 8–10 years of expertise in backend or API test automation.

• Proven background in backend or API test automation.

• Comprehensive understanding of Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps methodologies.

• Experience in performance testing and systems engineering.

• Familiarity with JMeter and the development of Curl or Shell scripts.

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

• Proficient in conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
