Automation Technician, PLC Programmer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Program, modify, and enhance PLC control systems.

• Commission machinery and systems, either internally or at customer sites.

• Diagnose, analyze, and rectify faults in control and automation systems.

• Develop, maintain, and expand PLC programs.

• Visualize system processes utilizing HMI or SCADA systems.

• Perform functional testing and system acceptance processes.

• Assist in optimizing existing production and automation processes.

• Collaborate with electrical design, mechanical engineering, project management, and clients.

• Document programs, modifications, and commissioning efforts.

• Configure and integrate drives, sensors, actuators, and fieldbus systems.

• Offer service support, remote assistance, and aid with technical inquiries.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in PLC programming, preferably with Siemens S7, TIA Portal, or similar systems.

• Understanding of automation engineering, electrical engineering, or control engineering.

• Completion of technical training, further qualification as a state-certified technician or master craftsperson, or a degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.

• Experience with HMI and visualization systems is a plus.

• Basic knowledge of drive technology, sensor technology, or fieldbus technology is advantageous.

• Capability to comprehend technical interrelationships and work in a solution-focused manner.

• Organized and independent working approach.

• Enjoyment of technical challenges and teamwork.

• Willingness to travel based on the assignment area is desired but not mandatory.

• Proficient German language skills; English language skills are beneficial.
