AutoCAD Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Create and sustain comprehensive AutoCAD drawings for residential landscape initiatives.

• Develop construction documentation such as site plans, layout plans, grading and drainage plans, planting plans, lighting plans, demolition plans, and construction details.

• Convert design concepts and hand sketches into precise CAD drawings.

• Draft detailed plans for pools, spas, terraces, walls, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, water features, planting areas, and other landscape components.

• Integrate information from surveys, architectural plans, engineering drawings, and consultant documents.

• Coordinate drawings across various disciplines while identifying potential conflicts or inconsistencies.

• Uphold drawing standards, layers, blocks, templates, dimensions, annotations, and file organization.

• Support Designers with revisions throughout the design process.

• Prepare construction documents that are suitable for permitting, pricing, and field implementation.

• Implement revisions based on team feedback.

• Review drawings for accuracy and completeness prior to issuance, returning them to Designers for final approval.

• Maintain well-organized project files and ensure that current drawing sets are accurately documented.

• Collaborate closely with Designers, Project Managers, and Construction teams throughout the design and construction phases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience using AutoCAD.

• Strong expertise in AutoCAD with a proven ability to generate detailed technical drawings.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English.

• Solid understanding of drafting standards, dimensions, scales, layers, and construction documentation.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural, landscape, survey, and engineering drawings.

• Capacity to manage multiple projects while adhering to deadlines.

• Preferred: Experience in producing landscape architecture, architecture, civil engineering, or construction documents.

• Preferred: Knowledge of grading and drainage plans.

• Preferred: Experience with pools, masonry, retaining walls, site structures, or outdoor living spaces.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Land F/X, or other design/drafting software.

• Resume and portfolio/work samples showcasing AutoCAD and technical drafting experience.
