This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Carry out a range of responsibilities related to patient registration, appointment scheduling, and verifying insurance information.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills focused on care during daily interactions with the public, patients, staff, and physicians.
• Schedule, modify, and update patient appointments as necessary.
• Conduct patient interviews to gather demographic information, assess eligibility, and collect co-payments and deductibles.
• Reach out to insurance providers to confirm the patient's insurance eligibility, benefits, and requirements.
• Request, monitor, and secure pre-authorizations from insurance companies.
• Process insurance authorizations and ensure patient records are up-to-date.
• Review referrals to determine approval or denial based on the information obtained.
• Utilize online insurance verification platforms effectively.
• Share any changes or trends in insurance with the team.
• Address patient inquiries, questions, and scheduling requests promptly.
• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
• Preferred experience of 1 to 2 years in a medical office setting.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology is essential.
• Above-average spelling and typing abilities are necessary.
• Proficient in computer software, including online insurance websites and database management.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite is required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are a must.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate effectively in the English language is essential.
