Attorney – Insurance Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Manage insurance defense cases independently from start to finish, including complex and high-stakes litigation.

• Formulate case strategies and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery materials.

• Conduct and defend depositions.

• Represent in court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, settlement discussions, and trial preparation.

• Take responsibility for significant litigation cases with minimal oversight.

• Foster relationships with insurance carriers, claims professionals, self-insured entities, and corporate clients.

• Cultivate regional professional connections and support the growth of the insurance defense practice across Western Pennsylvania.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania.

• Extensive experience in insurance defense litigation.

• Capability to manage complex cases independently.

• Experience with high-value litigation cases.

• Proficient legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

• Preferred experience in handling large-loss or high-exposure insurance defense cases.

• Desired trial experience and significant deposition experience.

• Preferred experience representing insurance carriers or self-insured entities.

• Background in general liability, automobile liability, premises liability, or trucking and transportation litigation preferred.

• Established connections with regional insurance carriers, claims professionals, or corporate clients are preferred.

• Business development experience or a portable book of business is preferred.

• Familiarity with the Western Pennsylvania legal market and a well-established professional network is preferred.

• An entrepreneurial mindset towards practice growth is preferred.

• Authorization to work in the United States.
