Assyrian Over the Phone Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide real-time telephonic interpretation between Assyrian and English for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.

• Deliver services with a focus on accuracy, neutrality, and professionalism in legal and immigration contexts.

• Comply with USCIS/DHS interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and compliance standards.

• Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent or surge requests.

• Engage in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance evaluations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in Assyrian (Neo-Aramaic) and English.

• Over 2 years of professional interpreting experience, preferably in immigration, asylum, legal, medical, or government fields.

• Understanding of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent telephone communication skills with the ability to maintain impartiality under pressure.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
