Associate, Workplace Health and Safety

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the Director of Workplace Health and Safety

• Assist in the execution of safety policies, procedures, and systems throughout the organization

• Foster a positive safety culture

• Organize health and safety initiatives

• Aid in identifying and mitigating workplace hazards

• Assist with incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions

• Offer guidance to employees and leaders regarding safe work practices, risk assessments, and travel safety

• Participate in training, onboarding, inspections, audits, and ongoing health and safety communications

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in developing and/or maintaining a workplace safety management system

• Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

• Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, including all provincial and territorial Occupational Health and Safety Acts, Codes, Regulations, and applicable standards

• Experience in applying project and change management principles and practices to health and safety initiatives

• Experience working in health and community-based programs (such as mobile social workers, personal support workers, etc.)

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Working knowledge of English and French, with lived or work experience with Indigenous communities preferred.
