This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Assist in the planning, filming, and editing of video content across various formats, including social-first clips, explainers, and longer-form features.
β’ Collaborate with editorial teams to convert written science journalism into compelling visual narratives.
β’ Oversee pre-production logistics, which includes scheduling, creating shot lists, and coordinating with subjects and experts.
β’ Edit footage, motion graphics, and animations utilizing industry-standard editing software.
β’ Source and organize b-roll, archival footage, and licensed media.
β’ Provide support for live shoots, interviews, and remote productions as required.
β’ Stay informed about video trends across platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and assist in adapting the content strategy as needed.
β’ Keep project files, footage archives, and production documentation well-organized.
β’ 1β3 years of experience in video production, editing, or a related field (internships included).
β’ Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro; familiarity with After Effects is a plus.
β’ A keen eye for visual storytelling and pacing.
β’ Basic skills in camera operation and lighting techniques.
β’ Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
β’ A genuine interest in science, technology, and the ability to make complex ideas accessible.
β’ Strong collaborative skills and a willingness to accept feedback from editors and producers.
β’ A bachelor's degree in film, journalism, communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
