This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the M&A pipeline across the enterprise and ensure its strength and compliance with established processes.
• Conduct monthly reviews of the M&A pipeline with Agilent’s CEO.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to make informed tradeoff decisions regarding strategic M&A opportunities.
• Establish standard procedures for developing investment theses and managing the M&A pipeline.
• Identify, nurture, and assess M&A opportunities within cross-group and adjacent areas.
• Work alongside the Enterprise Strategy team to evaluate priority strategic segments and keep a pipeline of aligned targets.
• Facilitate the engagement and nurturing of high-priority M&A targets.
• Create investment theses and outline strategic assumptions for cross-group and adjacent M&A targets.
• Lead strategic due diligence efforts.
• Provide advice and alignment to Group Business Development leaders, General Managers, Group Presidents, and Strategy & Corporate Development personnel.
• Contribute to Agilent’s long-term enterprise strategy and play a crucial role in shaping the company’s external growth engine.
• Proven strategic capability and experience in developing and implementing multi-year strategic plans at the company, group, or business unit level.
• Proficiency in creating inorganic growth strategies, including the identification, cultivation, and development of strategic rationales for M&A targets.
• Experience in conducting adjacency analyses with stakeholders for non-core inorganic opportunities.
• Demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and gain the trust of senior executives and executive-level colleagues.
• Relevant knowledge of platforms, technologies/science, and market dynamics related to the business.
• Skill in identifying, negotiating, and finalizing partnerships, licensing agreements, acquisitions, and other strategic collaboration opportunities.
• MBA or a technical degree pertinent to life sciences.
• Over 10 years of experience in M&A business development, corporate development, business consulting, or related fields.
• Progressive management responsibilities.
• Proven outcomes driven by strong interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities.
• Experience in leading multicultural and geographically dispersed teams in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
