Associate Software Engineer – Java, Distributed Systems, Databases

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Create new functionalities with an emphasis on enhancing performance and efficiency.

• Work collaboratively with the team to implement scalable solutions and boost application performance.

• Recognize and act on opportunities to enhance service reliability.

• Contribute to NRDB, which is New Relic's proprietary telemetry database technology.

• Share the responsibility for pager rotation and provide on-call support during system failures.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in developing distributed SaaS software.

• Strong proficiency in Java programming.

• In-depth knowledge of algorithms and data structures.

• Experience in building high-throughput software while adhering to best practices.

• Advanced understanding of distributed systems and their inherent challenges.

• Familiarity with using the command line for managing, investigating, and resolving issues.

• Experience with databases such as MySQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis, or MongoDB.

• Knowledge of public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes or Docker.

• A solid understanding of fundamental Computer Science principles.
