Associate SOC Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee health and security alerts and events utilizing SIEM, IDS/IPS, and various monitoring tools.

• Perform initial triage of security incidents, evaluating their severity and potential impact.

• Record incident details, findings, actions taken, and pertinent evidence.

• Convey findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Escalate potential threats, vulnerabilities, and threat actors to internal and external parties.

• Collaborate with SOC team members, IT personnel, and stakeholders during incident response efforts.

• Deliver exceptional customer service that exceeds client expectations.

• Develop and maintain incident response playbooks, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.

• Document and adhere to security monitoring protocols.

• Compile and assess service-focused reports.

• Undertake other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Security+.

• Basic knowledge of networking protocols, operating systems, and security technologies.

• Familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and vulnerability scanning tools.

• Capability to interpret and analyze security logs and events.

• Willingness to quickly learn and adapt to new security tools, technologies, and processes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Desirable: CompTIA CySA+, GCIH, CSA, or CEH certifications.

• Desirable: Practical experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, ELK Stack, or IBM QRadar.

• Desirable: Familiarity with IDS/IPS, antivirus, EDR, and vulnerability scanning tools.

• Desirable: Knowledge of Python or PowerShell for automation and analysis.
