Associate Security Analyst II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Analyze user behavior, logs, and alerts from NGAV/EDR, Firewall, IDS/IPS, Web Proxy, and various other technologies.

• Monitor, triage, and investigate SIEM alerts and client support inquiries.

• Assist in the development and fine-tuning of SIEM detection capabilities.

• Document and engage in Incident Response activities.

• Conduct routine vulnerability scans, evaluate results, and recommend remediations.

• Report on security threats, metrics, and defense effectiveness to client stakeholders.

• Proactively hunt for signs of compromise in client environments.

• Provide actionable guidance for remediation efforts.

• Contribute to the establishment of a next-generation Security Operations Center.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of pertinent experience in Cybersecurity, risk management, security operations, network operations, or similar knowledge.

• Experience utilizing SIEM and EDR tools for monitoring, detecting, and responding to potential security incidents.

• Demonstrated experience in investigating potential threats through proactive threat hunting or analyzing customer-reported issues.

• Strong capability to triage events and distinguish genuine threats from false positives.

• Proficient in log analysis, interpreting system logs, and identifying root causes.

• Familiarity with threat intelligence.

• Understanding of network protocols and system vulnerabilities.

• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and security frameworks, including ISO, NIST, PCI, and GDPR.

• Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• Strong communication skills with the capability to document findings clearly and provide actionable recommendations.

• Availability to work Monday through Thursday, 10-hour night shifts, from 7 PM to 5 PM MST.
