Associate, Securities Lending Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Become a member of the Operations team, collaborating directly with our Senior Manager and Team Lead in Securities Lending Operations, as well as other Operations Associates to carry out daily securities lending activities.

• Aid in maintaining positions by managing the processing of returns from counterparties and assisting in the loan recall process.

• Ensure the timely settlement of loans and returns, addressing any related issues that may arise.

• Work alongside traders, product managers, engineering teams, and other operations units to facilitate efficient and prompt trade flow and settlement.

• Engage with counterparties through email and calls to execute loans and recalls while resolving any discrepancies.

• Detect and rectify discrepancies in transactions.

• Conduct daily and monthly reconciliations of records and assist in fulfilling audit requests.

• Provide support for front-office operations connected to corporate actions and daily market fluctuations.

• Assist with billing and month-end processes.

• Represent Wealthsimple in interactions with external counterparties, fostering industry relationships.

• Contribute to the development of operational procedures as we expand our Options business.

• Assist the treasury team with cash movements, including billing responsibilities.

• Facilitate the onboarding process for new counterparties.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a broker-dealer, bank, capital markets firm, or pension fund.

• A background in finance, accounting, business, or a related technical discipline, demonstrating strong business judgment and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

• Proficient technical skills in Excel and Google Sheets, including the use of formulas and pivot tables.
