Associate Production SQL Server DBA – Secret Clearance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Manage SQL Server databases within production and enterprise operational environments.

• Implement database scripts and software applications on database and web application servers.

• Assess and establish database and security requirements.

• Create database queries and apply patches in testing and patching environments.

• Collaborate on backup, rollback, and recovery strategies with testers and test leads.

• Conduct health assessments for Windows servers and SQL databases while troubleshooting any irregularities.

• Set up and oversee database maintenance plans for backup and recovery.

• Establish and manage transactional replication.

• Set up and maintain Always On Availability Groups.

• Facilitate data-at-rest encryption.

• Collaborate with production support teams and software developers to address daily database challenges.

• Diagnose issues with database scripts, IIS configurations, Windows application errors, and related matters.

• Perform code reviews and evaluate installation scripts and deployment documentation.

• Assist various groups and user types within a collaborative team environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience with SQL Server.

• At least 1 year of experience with IIS and service accounts.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience with Windows Server.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Active Secret security clearance is mandatory.

• Candidates must reside in Maryland, DC, or Virginia and be within commuting distance of DC.

• Experience with Oracle is preferred.

• Familiarity with performing code reviews is preferred.

• Knowledge of PowerShell and command-line commands is preferred.

• Experience in analyzing requirements is desirable.
