Associate Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Identify customer and business challenges through research, analytics, and input from stakeholders.

• Engage in discovery processes to uncover user needs, workflow obstacles, and potential opportunities.

• Convert research insights and product specifications into distinct design opportunities.

• Work collaboratively with senior designers, engineers, and product management to align design choices with user and business outcomes.

• Develop cohesive solutions for specified features, workflows, or product domains.

• Produce annotated wireframes, prototypes, and interaction specifications that convey software functionality.

• Utilize established design-system components, patterns, and accessibility standards.

• Contribute enhancements to shared components and interaction methodologies.

• Engage in user research and distill findings into actionable design suggestions.

• Collaborate with product management and engineering to convert user and business requirements into design specifications and deliverables.

• Integrate feedback, research, and validation insights into design revisions.

• Take ownership of assigned design tasks from exploration to delivery, with appropriate guidance.

• Articulate user needs and provide evidence-based design recommendations.

• Participate in discussions regarding priorities, trade-offs, and direction for solutions.

• Showcase design work, clarify rationale, and incorporate feedback.

• Proactively identify risks, inconsistencies, and unresolved issues early in the process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in design with at least 2 years of experience, or equivalent expertise in UX, product design, interaction design, or a related field.

• A portfolio showcasing interaction design, problem-solving skills, and the ability to articulate design rationale.

• Proficiency in Figma and experience with creating wireframes and interactive prototypes.

• Background in collaborating with product management and engineering to deliver digital product experiences.

• Capacity to connect user needs, product requirements, and business context effectively.

• Experience using qualitative or quantitative data to guide design decisions.

• Ability to clarify moderately ambiguous challenges with assistance from partners or senior designers.

• Proven track record of designing and delivering well-defined features or workflows.

• Experience with design systems, accessibility guidelines, and validation methodologies.

• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, shared libraries, and prototyping capabilities.

• Familiarity with Figma Make or similar AI-assisted prototyping tools is advantageous.

• Strong communication and storytelling abilities, with a knack for explaining design choices and recommendations.

• Capability to independently manage assigned design projects, identify dependencies, and raise potential risks.

• Openness to feedback and a commitment to enhancing skills and product judgment.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across various disciplines and organizational levels.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements, manage multiple inputs, and seek guidance when necessary.

• A sense of curiosity about complex domains and a desire to develop expertise over time.
