
Associate General Counsel β APJ Commercial

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.
β’ Act as the initial legal hire in the APJ region, establishing and overseeing the APJ legal team as the business expands.
β’ Assist the go-to-market team by evaluating and negotiating customer contracts, primarily for the APJ sales team.
β’ Build strong relationships with the APJ sales team and offer pragmatic, solutions-focused legal advice.
β’ Lead intricate cross-border transactions with sophisticated parties across various jurisdictions.
β’ Keep abreast of and provide guidance on regulatory, compliance, and legal changes impacting the APJ region.
β’ Collaborate with the broader Legal team and cross-functional partners.
β’ Deliver training and resources to internal stakeholders regarding legal matters and contract procedures.
β’ Maintain and revise legal agreements, policies, and templates as necessary.
β’ Create and enhance scalable workflows that support rapid revenue growth and business stability.
β’ Assist in revenue-generating initiatives throughout the APJ region.
β’ Juris Doctor degree and membership in good standing in Singapore or Australia.
β’ At least 10 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) working both at a law firm and in-house with a high-growth technology company.
β’ Demonstrated experience in drafting, negotiating, closing, and advising on complex commercial software and SaaS agreements with enterprise clients, partners, and resellers across multiple jurisdictions.
β’ Strong comprehension of SaaS and software licensing legal matters, including data privacy, security, intellectual property, open-source, revenue recognition, and tax implications.
β’ Familiarity with professional services and go-to-market strategies, such as partner/reseller programs.
β’ Excellent judgment coupled with a strong business mindset.
β’ Ability to convert legal risks into practical commercial guidance aligned with business objectives.
β’ Strong interpersonal, communication, and management abilities.
β’ Capability to foster trust and relationships with sales teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and clients.
β’ Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
β’ Proficient in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines within a high-growth setting.
β’ Experience in supporting a rapidly growing infrastructure SaaS company.
β’ History of operating with urgency in a fast-paced environment.
β’ Proven experience in successfully recruiting and managing attorneys and other legal professionals.
